Bird Sales

Come along to one of our Bird Sales!
Our Bird Sales allow our members to sell the birds that they breed. Vendors offer a wide range of aviary-bred birds, including native and exotic species. Sales are held at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, 115 Mudgeeraba Rd, Worongary QLD 4213.

Mudgeeraba Showgrounds
$2 entry fee, children under 14 free​
Sausage Sizzle, Bacon & Egg Rolls and Cold Drinks are available for purchase at the BBQ, with the proceeds supporting our club.

Trade vendors usually offer a range of items for sale, including cages and aviary accessories, medicines, food, toys and other supplies.

Tables are $25 and must be booked in advance, by contacting the Sales Steward.

Vendor check-in opens at 8am and all birds must be tabled by 9am for scrutinising.

Mudgeeraba Showgrounds

Our Bird Sales are held at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, in the Bill Deacon Pavilion.

Plenty of parking is available on the oval, subject to weather conditions.

The public entry door is located on the oval side of the hall.
Vendors, please enter via the main door when bringing birds inside.

Disabled parking and an access ramp is available.

Bird Sale Code of Practice

In accordance with the GCABA Code of Practice for all Club Bird Sales, members and vendors are reminded of the following:
  • Only healthy birds fully feathered and weaned will be accepted for sale.
  • Birds are required to have clean water and adequate seed and/or other appropriate food during the time of the sale.
  • Birds must not be overcrowded, or under stress from its cage mates.
  • Cages should be clean, free from rust and must not smell of vermin.
  • All-wire cages are not acceptable. Cages must have solid sides, top and bottom with a mesh or wire front.
  • No birds are to be exchanged or sold outside of the venue.
  • The changeover aviary provided will be used where practical, for all exchanges.
  • All other animals are banned, including any ‘free’ bird – shoulder-borne, tethered or otherwise.
Any vendor not complying with the Code will be given the opportunity to comply. The Sales Steward (or delegate) has the right to refuse any bird and/or person/s in breach of the Code.
